ABOUT ME AND MY WORK

Hi, I’m Linda “iro” Näsström, and above all else,
I do film sound.

I’m 38 years old and originally from Umeå, in the northern part of Sweden. Today, I work wherever I’m needed. Most of my projects take me to Norrland or Stockholm, which I consider my second hometown. But I've done projects in France, Morocco, Norway etc.

Starting in 2009, I studied the Sound Technician program at the Music Campus in Piteå, part of Luleå Technical University. In 2014, I moved back to Umeå, and since then, film sound has been my main focus. The last few years have been a mix of locations: some months in Stockholm, some in Kiruna, depending on where the most exciting projects arise. In between, I travel from Umeå for shorter assignments.

I started working with sound around 2003, primarily doing live concerts. My journey to Piteå was part of that path, but during my time at university, I realized I needed to rethink my direction. I reflected on my skills and passions—creativity, invention, visual aesthetics, teamwork, exploring new places, and, of course, sound. It became clear that film sound was the perfect fit—and it has truly become a passion.

Over the years, I’ve gained experience across feature and short films, both fiction and documentary, and sometimes in creative hybrids. I’ve also worked on TV series, commercials, educational films, and with international TV channels. My experience spans booming, location mixing, and solo recording projects. When not on set, you’ll find me in the studio recording ADR, podcasts, or crafting sound design.

My gear bank is constantly evolving and now equipped with industry-standard essentials, ready to accompany me on new sound adventures wherever they lead.

2010 I started my own freelancing company, registered for "F-tax" in Sweden.
