ABOUT ME AND MY WORK

My name is Linda "iro" Näsström and most of all,

I do filmsound.

I am 38 years old and originally from Umeå in the northern part of Sweden. Today I work where ever I am needed but most of my projects happen in Norrland or around Stockholm which is my second hometown.

I was educated in Piteå at the music campus of Luleå technical University where I studied the sound technician programme starting 2009. 2014 I moved my base back to Umeå and since about then film sound has been my main occupation. The last years has been split between different cities, some months in Stockholm, some in Kiruna depending on where interesting and bigger jobs turn up. In-between I travel from Umeå to shorter projects.

Starting out with sound around 2003 I was primarily doing live concerts which took me to the school in Piteå, but after a few years at the university I needed to reevaluate my goals as I needed to move forward.  I scanned among my skills and interests and found creativity, inventions, visual aesthetics, team work and that I like to go on a mission and seeing new places... and sound off course!

It was quite clear to me that film sound would suit me, and it has, it has really become a passion for me.

Through the years I've gained experience from both feature and short films, fiction and documentary -sometimes in a creative mix. Ive also done commercials, informational film and worked with international TV channels. Ive been booming, location mixing and done solo stuff out of a bag. In between shoots you find me in the studio recording ADR, podcasts or doing sounddesign.

My gear bank is constantly evolving and is now packed with the fundamentals of industry standard equipment and me and my sound bag is ready for new adventures.

2010 I started my own freelancing company, registered for "F-tax" in Sweden and has been doing work abroad.
